Terms and Conditions for Galanakis Rent a Car

Welcome to Galanakis Rent a Car. By renting a vehicle from us, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Eligibility: The renter and any additional drivers must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driving license for a minimum of 12 months. A valid credit card in the renter’s name is also required.

2. Rental Period: The rental period is determined at the time of booking and should be adhered to. Extensions must be agreed upon in advance and may incur additional charges.

3. Payment: Rental charges are payable upfront, including a 24% VAT. Payments must be made using a credit card. The renter is responsible for any fines, penalties, or charges incurred during the rental period.

4. Fuel Policy: Vehicles must be returned with the same amount of fuel as at the commencement of the rental. Failure to do so will result in charges for the fuel difference. No refunds are provided for unused fuel.

5. Traffic Violations: All penalties and fines incurred during the rental period are the renter’s responsibility. This includes any administrative fees related to traffic violations.

6. Insurance and Liability: Rental rates include third-party liability insurance. In case of an accident, the renter is responsible for any damages not covered by insurance or beyond the deductible limit, which is €850 (+VAT) for all vehicle types. The insurance does not cover damages to the underside of the vehicle, wheels, tires, or incidents occurring under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

7. Additional Equipment: Baby car seats are available upon request at no extra charge. Delivery to airports, harbors, and hotels is also provided free of charge.

8. Ferry Transport: Renters wishing to transport the vehicle by ferry must obtain written authorization from Galanakis Rent a Car in advance, except for the ferry to Antiparos.

9. Vehicle Condition: The renter agrees to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was rented, barring normal wear and tear. The renter will be charged for any damage or excessive dirtiness.

10. Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made within a specified timeframe before the rental period begins to avoid charges. The specific cancellation policy will be outlined at the time of booking.

11. Changes to Terms: Galanakis Rent a Car reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. The renter agrees to abide by the most current version of these terms.

12. Governing Law: These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Greece and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Greek courts.
